Ms. Barbara Prammer, President of the Austrian National Assembly, was first to experience Audiowalk Gusen along with the 2007 commemoration.

Weekend Overview

Austrian Federal Minister of the Interior, Guenther Platter thanked Ms. Martha Gammer and Mr. Rudolf A. Haunschmied of the Gusen Memorial Committee (GMC) for their commemorational endeavours in many years. Mr. Christoph Mayer chm. and Professor Dr. Harald Welzer speaking along with the inauguration of Audiowalk Gusen. Representatives of the State of Austria along with survivors at the 2007 Gusen Commemoration.
Professor Herbert Friedl, an contemporary Austrian artist, giving his commemorational address on arts along with concentration camps.
Inauguration of Audiowalk Gusen (03:00 p.m.)
  • Audiowalk Gusen (Audioweg Gusen) - an art project by Christoph Mayer chm - was inaugurated by the President of the Austrian Parliament, Mrs. Barbara Prammer.

  • Speech by Ms. Justyna Tchorek on the role of arts in the camps
Exhibition at the St. Georgen Local Heritage Museum

  • 52 cards painted in 1944-45 in the Gusen camp hospital
  • Video installation "Golgotha" by Mr. Rudolf Burger
  • Contemporary paintings by Mr. Rudolf Burger to "Golgotha"
Delegations form different countries lining up for the march into the Gusen Memorial. Mr. Ernst Hutsteiner, Mayor of Langenstein, Ms. Angela Orthner, President of the Upper Austrian Parliament and Ms. Barbara Prammer, President of the Austrian National Assembly, at the inauguaration of Audiowalk Gusen. People from many different nations took part in the 2007 Gusen Commemoration.
